The Setting
Our Homely Environment
Free Range Explorers is situated in the family home, close to Mrs Ethelstone’s Primary School, Uplyme. It is a semi-detached property with a large garden that we love making use of! We use the front room as our main play room, regularly changing the resources and toys depending on seasons as well as children's interests. The kitchen is our food and messy play base, where we have lunch together and get creative with fun textures and colours! |

The orchard:
We have cultivated a lovely selection of trees with the children to create our orchard, including apple, cherry and plums! We use this space to make wooden dens and climb the low branches of the trees. Next to our orhchard, we have our chickens, which the children help us care for. Checking their food and water every morning and collecting eggs to take home. |
The Mud Kitchen:
We love getting messy in our mud kitchen! We explore water, mud and many sensory trays, such as pumpkin soup where the children can have fun and enjoy different textures and materials. The Garden:
In this space we offer many exciting places for the children to explore and play in. We have created a willow tunnel, leading to a secret garden with a sand pit. A wendy house provides the perfect opportunity for some role play games. The children help us to look after our Guinea Pigs which also live in our garden, as well as a pond where we investigate frogs and other bugs! |
